1st vet trip for the littermates at 8
weeks old.
(L to R: Button, Boomer (our lost boy) & Bandit) |
Boomer's bed is still waiting for him.
We need everyone's help to bring him home. |
Here is Boomer's
story:
Boomer is a neutered yellow lab/mix who
is light in color, short hair, and has a black nose unlike the pinkish
noses that labs have. He weighed about 60 lbs and is a tall dog,
not short. Boomer went missing from our home off Reavis Mountain
Road on Thanksgiving Day 2005. He was 2 years old then. Our
family just recently moved to the area in July and he has a brother Bandit,
and a sister, Button who are from the same litter. They are rescues.
My husband found them in the middle of the road when they were just 6
weeks old. We were living in Western North Carolina at that time.
Someone had dumped them. They look nothing alike but the vet confirmed
they were from the same litter. From that day, they have never been
separated.
Our home in Jasper, Georgia, sits nearby
a pasture and creek in the woods that would lead to Four Mile Church Road
off of Highway 53 in Southeast Pickens County at the Cherokee line.
They had all gone to the creek to play and Bandit and Button came back
home together but Boomer did not. We immediately knew something
was wrong and started looking for him at 1:30 as they went to the creek
at 1:00. We have searched and searched for Boomer in the vicinity.
His picture has appeared in the Pickens Progress and the Cherokee Tribune
and we have followed up on every lead possible to include the Woodstock
area calls. There were hunters in the woods that day and we don't
know if Boomer was accidently injured or had an encounter with an animal
or just got afraid and ran. It is entirely possible that he had
been injured and got turned around direction wise in the woods and someone
picked him up and helped him. He was wearing a blue collar with
a silver bone shaped tag that had his name and phone number.
We have never stopped looking for him
and believe he may be in the area somewhere and that someone just missed
the posters and information we have had posted. All we want to do
is bring Boomer home to his family where he is still greatly missed by
all of us. He is a kind and loving dog who loves to ride.
He has a few distinguished markings only known to us and the person who
is caring for him. He could have lost his collar that day, so if
someone found him and picked him up, it would appear that he had been
abandoned, but I assure you that is not the case.
Please look around your neighbors'
houses and fenced in areas, as if he is fenced in, he cannot find his
way back home. We are offering a $1500.00 reward for his safe return,
no questions asked. Please call 770-894-4657 anytime day or night.
